As 4.0 ‘Phoenix’ Approaches


Hello! We are currently 2 days away from the huge 4.0 update for Stellaris, as well as the BioGenesis expansion!

As with previous DLCs and updates, all mods of mine will receive an update when the update releases to ensure compatibility with the latest version of the game.


Empires Expanded v1.6.8

The 4.0 update completely overhauls the planetary management aspect of Stellaris, including jobs, pops, districts and buildings.

The patch for EMEX that will release when the 4.0 update does will alter some parts of the mod for compatibility, but a lot of modifiers had to have been changed or just removed completely because of how some mechanics in-game are now different.

This mainly affects:
– modifiers affecting trade
– modifiers affecting immigration
– modifiers affecting pop growth/assembly
– modifiers affecting priest jobs

This has been a relatively difficult update to adjust and update to, so let me know of anything I’ve missed and any suggestions.

Do expect a follow-up update sometime later that might change balancing or use some of the newly-added features.


EMEX v2.0 Update

I’ve said before about wanting to get this update for the mod out before Stellaris 4.0, but as I’ve said, it was a lot more difficult to update the mod to work in 4.0. As such, expect the v2.0 update out later.

Now, I do want to be clear with the scope of this update; while I initially didn’t plan on working on the existing mod civics, after the changes I made to some of the Hive Mind and default civics, I felt the Machine Intelligence and MegaCorp civics were somewhat lacking, so I felt compelled to expand on those too.

Furthermore, I’ve come up with overhaul plans for the Born of Knowledge origin as mentioned in the last devlog–while a lot more “modern” and overall better than the older mod origins, it’s pretty unclear and confusing to some and lacks a real identity apart from new planet types that don’t do much. Even moreso with how 4.0 is splitting researchers again.

Unfortunately, it’s exam season. A pretty important one for me this time around! So, I can’t fully commit to any of those later dates at this point, though I will do my best to work on the mod. I do enjoy doing it in my freetime, so maybe we’ll stay on schedule!
